The Cinque Terre Express trains run every 20 minutes throughout the day, and this is the quickest and easiest way to get around Cinque Terre. The trains are running between Levanto and La Spezia and stop in all the five Cinque Terre villages. It only takes around five minutes from one village to the next.

The Cinque Terre Express train service is available from March 16 until November 3, 2024. There are also trains running once or twice an hour during the winter between the five villages.

Train Ticket Prices Cinque Terre

The cost of a journey between any two stations vary based on when you are visiting (low, medium or peak season) from 5 to 10 euros for adults with the Cinque Terre Express. Children aged 4-11 receive a 50% discount.

If you want to visit more than two of the villages, we highly recommend you to buy the Cinque Terre Train Card which gives you access to the two chargeable hiking trails together with unlimited train travel on the Cinque Terre Express trains on the Levanto - Cinque Terre - La Spezia line. The card costs from 19.50 euros to 32.50 euro for adults for a one-day card depending on the visit period. A two-day card costs from 34 euros to 59 euros (consecutive days). A three-day card costs from 46.50 euros to 78.50 euros. In addition discounts for children, seniors and families are available.

Cinque Terre Train Schedule

The Cinque Terre Express trains run every 15 minutes from 5am to 11.30pm, and you can pick up or print out a timetable. You can not reserve seats in advance and there can be a lot of people waiting on the platforms. The Cinque Terre Express trains are long and they often use double-decker carriages, so there are place for everyone. And do not forget to validate your ticket before boarding the trains at the green stamp machines located in the stairs on the way to the platform. Fines are quite expensive! Tickets bought online do not have to be validated.
