Cinque Terre Italy

The main activities in Cinque Terre are outdoor activities such as hiking, snorkeling, kayaking and relaxing on the beach etc.

The question is what to do in Cinque Terre in case of rain. Even if most of the rain falls during the cooler winter, it can also rain during the tourist season. If the weather doesn't cooperate, there are always fun things to do in the villages or the nearby cities.

  • Take the train between the villages and stroll around the Old Town of Monterosso. Here you will find some really nice coffee shops.

  • Do a pesto making class or a wine tasting at the bar Cinque Sensi in Vernazza.

  • Take the train to the nearest city La Spezia. The pedestrian main street Via Prione has a great range of restaurants, bars and a variety of shops for those wanting to buy Italian clothing and shoes.

  • Take the train to Genoa and visit the the second biggest Aquarium of Europe. The Old Town of Genoa is the biggest of its kind in Europe and full of decorated buildings from the Middle Ages.

  • Visit the famous Italian Winery Buranco in Monterosso. Enjoy a wine tasting and relax in their lounge chairs and take in the breathtaking scenery.

  • Make a day trip to Florence and visit the well known museums and art galleries, such as the Uffizi Gallery and the Palazzo Pitti.

Normally it rains only for a short time or for some hours, hopefully not for the whole day.
